Week 6 Preview & Pregame Notes posted on 10/09/2008

Dolphins (2-2) at Texans (0-4)

Now I know you are thinking the Dolphins and Texans? But the "Wildcat" offense in Miami and Houston's epic 4th quarter fallout against Indy makes these two teams right at the top of the list when to comes to football talk. The dolphins are on a two game win streak, something they haven't done since 2006. They have been unstoppable on offense the last two weeks, combining for 851 yards, something they haven't done since the Marino days. They will definately need to become better in other areas of their offense besides the Wildcat, but its a lot of fun to watch now. Houston has all the pieces; a solid quarterback, a clear running back stud in Steve Slaton, and one of the best receivers in the league in Andre Johnson. They have beat Miami all three times the teams have competed. A win here for either of these teams would be Huge for their season.

Week 5 Preview & Predictions posted on 10/04/2008

So here it is; week 5 of what has already become one of the craziest seasons in a long time. Here are my takes on the weeks most significant games.

     Tennessee 17  Baltimore 13

With Mcgahee banged up and Flacco not proving he can "lead' his team, Tennessee gets the win with their swarming defense.

     Pittsburgh 20 Jacksonville 24

With Parker and Mendenhall out, and Big Ben still battling that shoulder injury, that will be too much to overcome on the road and Jacksonville gets the close win.

     Redskins 18 Eagles 21

This is clearly the game of the week. The redskins have quickly gone from overlooked to an NFC elite. A second straight win over a Conference contender would erase any doubt (if there is any left), but the Eagles will get it done at home. Mcnabb and the rookie Jackson are clearly on the same page, and i think Westbrook will play. In the end the Eagles will pull out a close one.

100 Year Curse Proving Too Much To Overcome posted on 10/03/2008
The Chicago Cubs are on the verge of seeing their World Series dreams come to an end....again. I'm not one to believe in curses, but come on, after watching the Dodgers take advantage of four errors on route to a 10-3 win, and a 2-0 series lead, it makes one start to believe. Zambrano went 6.1 Innings, giving up 6 hits and 3 earned runs, but he clearly was missing his spots. The Cubs are being out-managed, out-hustled, and even out-lucked by a team that has the worst record of any playoff team, and play in baseball's weakest division. And its not like the Cubs are going to have it any easier in game three, they will face Kuroda, who has many similarities to Billingsley, who dominated them Thursday. I was very hopeful this year, but it looks like the Cubs, their 97 wins and best record in t
