Big Daddy gobbles an array of exotic cheeses following the Saints Monday Night thrashing of the Packers. This week Big Daddy’s Saints Beat grades Superdome crowd control, recaps the Green bay game, delivers the much anticipated section 645 update, questions Coach Payton’s decision making, examines the Saints playoff chances, and releases his World Famous Pregame Information.

Saints season ticket holders endured terribly long waits in the five previous home dates on the raised walkway surrounding the dome before and after each game. Better crowd control alleviates Black Friday pre-Christmas Sale type trampling injuries, especially outside Gate E. Inclement weather curtailed early tailgating, forcing those fans into the dome earlier than normal. The 20+ point blow-out caused a mass early exodus, making postgame crowd traffic smooth. Due to aforementioned circumstances, basing Superdome crowd control on the Green Bay game would be as accurate as the City Hall’s sanitation billing estimates. Therefore, Saints Beat will delay it’s crowd congestion assessment until the next home game

Big Daddy dusts off his golf clubs for Winter golf while the Saints quietly finish another disappointing year on December 28th. This week Big Daddy’ s Saints Beat presents special bonus coverage of the Bayou Classic, reports on the Vince Marinello murder case, recaps the Tampa Bay game, interrogates Sean Payton, and gives out his World Famous Pregame Information.

Thanksgiving Weekend in New Orleans means the tradition of Bayou Classic. Rabid football fans descend on the Crescent City from all over the country to enjoy the pageantry and get down like nowhere else. Unfortunately, bad weather caused fans to celebrate indoors instead of the usual barbecue throw downs outside the Superdome. Though rain slowed activities around the dome, Bourbon Street was jumping. Bayou Classic visitors packed gentlemen’s clubs to the rafters both Friday and Saturday night pulling in huge dollars for the Hustler icon, Larry Flynt. Gussied up ladies ready for action drew on years of experience by giving guys multiple options to fit the current economic conditions, and keeping late night activities rolling well after the rising sun. Fantastic! Who doesn’t love the Bayou Classic?

Big Daddy celebrated the Saints’ long overdue ground attack Sunday by devouring shredded dirty bird. This edition of Big Daddy’ s Saints Beat, covers last weekend’ s 2nd Congressional District Election, recaps the Atlanta game, provides an in-game report from Section 645, asks Coach Payton to stay balanced, honors an old friend, and gives out his World Famous Pregame Information.

Saturday night Louisiana voters knocked down another ethnic barrier by choosing Anh “ Joseph” Cao, the first Vietnamese American elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and unseated the seemingly unbeatable 9-term incumbent William Jefferson. Demographics in Louisiana’s 2nd Congressional District favored “Teflon Bill,” despite his 16-count federal indictment. During his concession speech Jefferson explained away his loss by saying how difficult it was to get supporters to the polls three times. Wild Bill was referring to his usual election day expense of free Popeye’s fried chicken and bus rides to boost his turnout. Alas, without his confiscated his freezer funds (walking around cash), or support from the Democratic National Committee, Jefferson’s recourses fell short. Either one would have bought tons of chicken and bus tokens. District residents don’t care about automaker bailouts, they want Cao to unveil the Best of New Orleans East map, highlighting Quiki-Mart food hot spots.

Big Daddy’s affinity for the Windy City waned after watching wintry conditions benefit the Bears to end the Saints’ season for a third straight year. This week Saints Beat covers the Vince Marinello murder trial, measures Saints fan enthusiasm at the Kingpin bar on Thursday night, recaps the Chicago game, grills Sean Payton for his ineffective short yardage play-calling, and releases his World Famous Pregame Information.

Longtime degenerate gambler Vince Marinello spent his life at the Fair Grounds Race Course betting on hopeless glue factory entries. Here’s what transpired in Lafayette Saturday morning: Vince placed another losing bet when he listened to his defense team in taking the witness stand. The flawed, low-budget, court-appointed strategy backfired and the jury only needed 90 minutes to unanimously convict the local icon. What a shame. The Fair Grounds will never the be same without Vince strolling up to the window wagering on worthless pigs wearing his Sansabelt™ double-polyester slacks, gold chains, Classic Ice Blue Aqua Velva, and the unmistakable hair pieces.

Volume 15 of Big Daddy’s Saints Beat is a special midweek report helping Saints fans pass the time after the Saints appearance on the NFL Network’s Thursday Night Football. This midweek edition compares Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards, examines corporate sponsors, questions NFL officials inaccurate spotting of the football, gives expert analysis by Saints Beat New Jersey correspondent, and releases Big Daddy’s World Famous Pregame Information.

National media swirled around Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich since the FBI arrested him last week in his pay-to-play scandal, alleging his intention to sell the Illinois open Senate seat vacated by Barak Obama. Federal probe wiretaps allegedly captured Blagojevich requesting money, perks and cushy jobs for himself and his lovely wife in return for his U.S. Senate appointment. Awesome! Blagojevich’s alleged actions outraged the public, with many demanding his immediate resignation or impeachment, but Rod refuses to relinquish power. Wow, they are obviously big and made of brass. Blagojevich reminds Big Daddy of imprisoned former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards. “Hot Rod” and “Fast Eddie” are the only two politicians so vain that they would never step down in disgrace. Do you think Blagojevich has any Russian mafia ties? If so, maybe he can give us some NHL betting tips?

After the Saints soiled Detroit’s White Christmas, Big Daddy enjoyed the soothing sounds of Motown awed by the artists’ talents and fashion sense. Too bad Lions’ players don’t have that smooth style. This week Big Daddy’s Saints Beat blog examines Bernard Madoff’s ethics, features the season’s final Kingpin update, recaps the Detroit game, covers the New Orleans Bowl, and releases his World Famous Pregame Information.

Bernard Madoff used his stature on Wall Street (former Nasdaq chairman) and in the Jewish community (trustee at Yeshiva University) to lure perspective investors into his Ponzi scheme. Bernie’s bulls**tting skills matched that of intelligence reports alleging Iraq’s possession of WMDs were an imminent danger to world peace. Confident Madoff investors bragged about his financial model which generated remarkably steady profits. Madoff confessed his entire business was just one big lie, and the $50 billion of investor money (three times our national auto bailout) vanished. Naturally, federal regulators can’t figure out how this happened: How secure does that make you feel about the country’s financial future? Madoff’s Ponzi scheme also swindled Elie Wiesel’s Foundation for Humanity; he even stole millions slated for a Holocaust memorial. Nice guy, huh? Don’t you love the fact that Madoff named his yacht “Bull?” What a scumbag!

After all the bad things that happened in 2008, losing to Carolina got Big Daddy’s New Year’s drinking started early to numb the pain of a terrible year. This week Big Daddy’s Saints Beat blog delivers coverage of the New Year’s Eve Mid-City bonfire, gives the season’s final section 645 report, recaps the Carolina game, wonders if Jake Delhomme cursed the Crescent City, questions Sean Payton’s comments, releases his World Famous Pregame Information

Mid-City’s traditional Orleans Avenue Christmas-tree bonfire spawned quite a controversy this year. Protesters levied complaints concerning revelers throwing fireworks into the open flames. Public opinion forced new safety measures to keep the annual festivities alive. Did anyone see WWL-TV Channel 4 Eyewitness News’ 5:00 p.m. broadcast on Monday? Lucy Bustamonte covered the aforementioned story showing some cheap home-made video of the Mid-City event. Obviously no one screened the grainy footage before airing it, because much to the delight of unsuspecting viewers editors forgot to cut out the wasted chick bouncing around the fire topless. Man, those were nice and real! Whoever saw them will show up to get a New Year’s kiss from her.
